The work behind Our Clinic

The establishment of PEMAKADE MECHO was a result of many events. Its beginning can be traced back to the experience that Rev. Joseph Kabali had during a visit to the people in his native village of Kasambya-Lukese and the neighbouring villages in 2006. More than ever before, he realized that the people in those villages were experiencing many challenges. These included difficulties in accessing health services, especially in cases of malaria, tuberculosis, AIDS, antenatal care and deliveries, counselling services, etc.

Currently, those people still face the challenges to access health facilities from the Government Hospital because of the long distances they have to travel, and others are too old to walk such long distances.  Furthermore, as a result of the low income of the peasant farmers in that rural area, they cannot afford the costs of most of the medications.

Therefore, starting to build a medical clinic centre seemed a viable first priority to reduce such challenges. In fact, it was during the construction of this clinic that the need to establish a non-profit organization became evident to him in order to handle the unanticipated responsibilities and all the requirements of maintaining a clinic. Consequently, PEMAKADE MECHO was formed.
